2019-02-17 10:00:00 2019-02-17 10:00:00 America/New_York Winter Ride & Suds Valentine's Day is over and the chocolate is gone.   Come stretch your legs and join George for a jaunt south to Northern Neck.  Everyone will meet in Wegman's parking lot near marker 17 and head south to the park.  There will be a few good hills and some fast flats.  Bring food for a rest stop in the park. There are no stores but there are bathrooms.  After the ride, grab a beer in the pub or shop at Wegman's.  The CC ride leader and I are still hibernating.  If you'd like to lead the ride at a slower pace, please email me at l_clauser@yahoo.com and I'll list you as another ride leader.    Wegman's: Alexandria, VA (WGV)

2019-02-18 10:30:00 2019-02-18 10:30:00 America/New_York BVP FORWARD AND REVERSE CC (MF/MH) * 35&50 * VA * Brentsville Park (BVP) 45°or 95°/50%  FORWARD AND REVERSE.  Mostly downhill and always a tailwind. The ride is a compilation of mostly flat terrain in the Brentsville and Nokesville area, first traveling clockwise.  When just one mile short of BVP, the direction of travel becomes counterclockwise and retraces itself.  If need be due to weather or otherwise you can shorten the ride to only 17 miles at that point.  Traffic is very light, and the flat route is easy pedaling especially with the guaranteed, aforementioned tailwind both ways!  So come on out.  The short route is particularly appealing to tandems.   Ascent is a gentle 1,330 or 38 feet per mile for the short route and 2,050 or 42 feet per mile for the long route. Short:  https://ridewithgps.com/routes/3686736 Long:   https://ridewithgps.com/routes/3692124 PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN CUE SHEET.  IMPORTANT NOTE:  Ride start is in the gravel lot behind the Brentsville Presbyterian Church.  I may cancel if the forecasted high is below 45 degrees or chance of precip is 50% or more. Please call if weather looks marginal. HELMETS REQUIRED.  On Sundays only, toilet available at BVP Presbyterian Church. Questions? Call me at home NLT 2 hours prior to ride start or on cell thereafter. Len Wilkinson [len.wilkinson@verizon.net] Home 703/455-0368 or Cell 703/350-9209 Brentsville Park (BVP)
