I've never led a ride before but I'm willing to give this a go. I'm on paternity leave and this is my first SBT GRVL shake out ride post baby. Expect a flat chill endurance paced GRAVEL ride (2-2.5 w/kg) on easy gravel and nice tow path crushed stone. Plan to stop and actually sit down for a coffee and pastry at Beans in the Belfry. Typically I try to negative split this ride.

Where
Poolesville HS (if you patronize cafe 107 across the street they have restrooms).

When
8:30 AM SHARP. This means rolling at 8:30.

Route
62 mile route https://ridewithgps.com/routes/36533972

Weather Forecast
The current forecast is mainly sunny skies but the canal is very shaded. Light winds. Starting temps will be in the 60s, but warming up into the 80s. The high for the day will be about 82.

Dress appropriately! I have included a handy link to help you with what to wear.
https://www.roadbikerider.com/what-to-wear-in-various-weather-2/

I would encourage everyone to check the weather again on Friday morning
https://www.wunderground.com/forecast/us/md/poolesville/39.14,-77.40

Thoughts on the Ride
You will need a bike that has gravel or cross tires. This is a ‘No Drop’ ride, but this ride comprises experienced riders who value their training time. The ride is open to everyone, but be prepared with a flat kit and a proper set of tires.
