What is this?
The ride of 25 to 30 miles starts from the lower parking lot at Glen Echo Amusement Park on MacArthur Boulevard. Most weeks, it takes one of three routes that wander to a rest stop (with comfort facilities) usually in Potomac and one of four routes back. These routes, each with a number of variations, loop on shady residential streets and have more than 1,000 feet of climbing. Occasionally, the route instead will find its way over to Beach Drive. It is a social no-drop ride with regrouping as needed. Optional lunch 1.5 miles from the end at MacArthur Plaza. This is a recurring ride. ALL RIDERS MUST REGISTER EACH WEEK. For new riders, emergency-contact information is collected at ride start. Since the ride changes each week, all riders on the Glen Echo ride distribution list get a weekly email with the cue sheet and the Ride with GPS link. (GLE 6V5)
