This awesome ride is back in action, after a long COVID hiatus. It’s still the Real Ride from the Real City but with some new added perks since cycling is only as enjoyable as the coffee and tailgating.

As always, the route features two rest stops with lots of rolling hills and a few lung-inhaling climbs. We traverse several urban neighborhoods on well-established bicycle corridors and through some quiet back roads around Potomac. We of course will get to enjoy Rock Creek Park as we return back into DC along Beach Drive at the end.

While we look forward to the joys of spinning harmoniously and consciously in pace lines, we are recreational riders and not racers, so we’re prioritizing socializing before and after the ride itself. We encourage all to arrive early before the 9 AM ride start to enjoy coffee and a pastry at Dupont Circle’s Dawson’s Market (the honorary home to the Wednesday evening Downtown Breakaway Ride). At the finish line later in the afternoon, please stay and celebrate with us at a post-ride tailgate at Right Proper Brewing Company on T street (~10 min ride from the ride start)

Note: Both Dawson’s Market and Right Proper Brewing are easily accessible by Metro rail and bus for those not able to cycle to the ride start.
