For many years, on the last weekend in August, George Haas would commemorate his birthday with a Gates Between The Sheetz ride to Gettysburg. Sadly, George passed away on July 3, 2023. He would have turned 80 on August 28. To honor his life, friends of George are carrying on the tradition and riding a metric century to Gettysburg. Please join us. There will also be a 40.6 mile route, although it won’t make it to Gettysburg.

Bring a chair and a snack and we’ll gather in the shade after the ride and celebrate old friends and make new ones.

Our target ride finish time (post ride social start time) is 1:30 PM. Based on your expected ride length and speed, you might want to start a little earlier or later.

GPS files will be finalized by Friday, August 25 after we confirm no late-breaking road construction on our preferred routes. Currently, these are the routes:

Park in the 2nd parking lot about .3 miles into Utica Park. Portable toilets are available at the ride start.
