What is this?
Former Bike Rack DC Beginner ride, it has survived the closing of BRDC, and the pandemic, and morphed into a ride that offers something for everyone **See Ride Requirements below**. A/B groups usually form after the first attack following a social start. Regroup at the turnaround and again at the finish.
If you’re feeling racy you can race. If you don’t have legs you can likely fall in with another group and meet up at the turnaround point (Viers Mill Park). Expect pace lines and attacks up front, more casual riding off the back and very little vehicular traffic throughout.
NOTE: There is an optional, hillier finish to the last couple miles that usually arrives at the start/finish regroup around the same time as the flatter finish group. If you're with the group and feel like a little climbing to end your ride, just follow. If not, keep to the posted route and everyone will finish at the same place.
While it can get spicy, this is ultimately a social ride and all are welcome to enjoy post-ride refreshments and revelry at Don Juan's in Mount Pleasant, just a short climb past the finish.
