About this event
An old club classic is back! Enjoy the foliage as we go as far up each hollow around Old Rag as pavement allows - a total of over 5,000' of climbing! This is a 77 mile test of climbing legs and descending mettle, with stunning views tempering the lactic acid burn.
Route:
https://ridewithgps.com/routes/48296990
Two rest stops (miles 31 and 46), but please plan accordingly as they are fairly well spaced (there is an optional third stop at mile 63 and a restroom available at the Old Rag Trailhead at mile 51).
25mm or wider tires recommended as some paved surfaces are rough - 28mm plus would be ideal.
No-go if there is over a 65% chance of rain or recent rain with a freeze the night before the ride as these hollows don't get a lot of sun to thaw any icy buildup. Late-breaking announcements will be posted here and on the club's
X account.
Please take care of bio-breaks BEFORE arriving at Culpeper County HS - thank you!
