About this event
RIDES WITH RITA: This is the latest in a series of rides geared specifically toward fast-end CC riders who enjoy riding long distances in a group but are tired of being dropped. We're not riding in a paceline. But it's my hope that participants are committed to staying together (more or less), maybe even regrouping after long stretches, and ending with an average of about 13 mph. My mantra is "It's supposed to be fun."
THESE RIDES ARE INTENDED TO ADDRESS A VERY SPECIFIC RIDER NICHE. I am attempting to resuscitate the once-vibrant CC class that has become extinct in recent years. If you like to ride faster or slower than the promised pace, you may be riding alone.
ABOUT TODAY'S ROUTE: I haven't ridden this loop, but hear it's nice. We'll explore it together and check out K-9 and Coffee in Glenelg for our break at Mile 28. (If we arrive before it has opened, we'll go to Highs.) Route is technically 49 miles, but ride leader will figure out a way to get to 50 miles by end of route.

PARKING: I'll be parked at the far left end of the shopping center, toward the street (near where there is usually a charity drop off box.) There is a 7-11 in the shopping center (with a restroom).
