2017-05-20 09:30:00 2017-05-20 09:30:00 America/New_York Ride the Refuge * Cambridge, MD Online Registration is closed.  On-site Registration is available.  Only Checks and/or Cash will be accepted for On-site Registration.  PPTC Women’s Group is Sponsoring “ Ride the Refuge “ – May 20th. 10, 20 and 25 Mile Routes- $15 Registration fee Come join other women in riding this beautiful Blackwater Wildlife Refuge on mostly flat roads and have time to see the newly opened Harriet Tubman Center. This ride has a $15 registration fee to include a donation to the refuge and entrance fee to Blackwater Wildlife Refuge. You need to register for this ride and pick up a wrist band at the start. The  PPTC Women's Ride Committee is leading this informative and breathtaking ride through and around the Blackwater Wildlife Refuge in Cambridge, Maryland, with the start and end at the newly opened Harriet Tubman Center. Spend the day riding and learning during this self-contained (no sag or support) ride of various lengths. Do all or one of the routes with a Bonus 10 mile ride through the Refuge on Wildlife Drive (no more than 10 to a group). After the ride, we will have a potluck at the Harriet Tubman Outdoor Picnic Shelter, so please bring something to share.  You can learn about the Blackwater Refuge from a park volunteer, then visit the Harriet Tubman and Blackwater Refugee Visitor Centers, which are close to each other by car or bike. Please prepare for the ride with sunscreen and at least two bottles of water. Weather conditions can vary from windy to hot and sunny. Pocket binoculars are also a welcome addition to your bike pack for birding. Remember to look up in the trees for Bald Eagles! Driving Directions
